The Complete Body Programme

 

Even if you’ve been working out regularly for years, hitting the gym after 40 can feel increasingly challenging – both mentally and physically. Your joints and muscles can no longer handle hardcore, back-to-back workouts and you feel that your motivation levels aren’t quite what they used to be. While these factors can be frustrating, it’s important not to let them hinder your enthusiasm for keeping fit and looking after your body.  Maintaining a regular exercise programme has so many health benefits. It helps to reverse the progression of chronic conditions associated with obesity, builds bone density, promotes confidence, increases overall wellbeing and can have a positive impact on mental health.

Our head fitness coach Carol, who has been an instructor here at Sandersons for 37 years has devised a brand-new class that will be launching January 2025. The main target group is those over 40, perhaps approaching or have hit the menopause, whose needs from a fitness class have changed. This “COMPLETE BODY PROGRAMME” is designed to include a little bit of everything so that all your fitness needs are covered in one class…
LOW IMPACT pulse raising exercises to improve heart health (Nothing too crazy that might cause discomfort for knees, hips or spine).
LOW WEIGHT/HIGH REPETITION resistance training exercises to increase bone density and slow down muscle wastage, all of which is key to improving balance and strength. 
Functional flexibility and core training exercises to help give you a great all-round feeling of body condition and fitness.

Is it suitable for me?

This class is suitable for men & women of all ages and abilities. If you have any medical conditions that may be affected by this type of exercise, please check with your GP prior to starting the class. Should any particular movement in the class cause any discomfort, please make the instructor aware so that they can adapt your workout accordingly.

What should I wear?

Cool and comfortable workout gear with trainers/pumps.
